Spotted a dodgy question? Tell us and we’ll fix it.
Slang Sprint is a free, fast version of the Fair Dinkum slang quiz. You get 60 seconds and as many questions as you can answer. Every question comes from the Fair Dinkum Aussie Slang dictionary, so a word you miss here always has a full entry, example sentence and often a video origin story waiting for you.
Each right answer is worth 100 points times your multiplier. The multiplier starts at Γ1 and goes up by one for every three correct answers in a row, capped at Γ5. A wrong answer drops it back to Γ1 and shows you the real meaning with an example, so the miss is worth something. Because the clock keeps running while that explanation is on screen, guessing at random does not pay.
Read the shape of the word first. A lot of Aussie slang is a shortened word with an -o or -ie on the end (see how Aussies make slang words), and that alone gets you most of the way. Pick a themed pack if you want an easier run, or stay on Everything for a proper test. On a computer you can press 1 to 4 instead of clicking.
